Cpl Gareth Roberts started working towards his NPTC City & Guilds level 2 chainsaw qualifications during his posting at 3 RSME Regiment. He decided to utilise the time between instructing the PNCO CLM courses and going out on the ground with the B1 and Assault pioneer chainsaw courses, to actually build on his skills and gain a formal qualification.
Starting with his maintenance and cross – cutting courses, Cpl Roberts then progressed to the Felling of Small Trees Award and he applied for the RE CPD Bursary Scheme to help towards the costs.
“The whole application process was easy, I would recommend it to anyone”.
