What Is NEBOSH?
NEBOSH stands for National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, a UK awarding organisation offering professional qualifications in health, safety and environmental management. They offer globally recognised qualifications covering health and safety and risk management. A significant number of health and safety job adverts specify NEBOSH qualifications.
The courses, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health or Safety is an excellent first steps towards becoming a fully qualified health and safety professional or simply to formalise previous training. It is a Level 3 qualification, equivalent to A Level.
Qualifications are also available for Construction Safety and for Fire Safety and Risk Management.
RE CPD have provided study grants to Sappers with a construction background who have wished to undertake these courses (which are available online) which they did in their own time. RE CPD does not fully fund these courses but can pay a proportion of the costs to Sappers who meet the requirements of the Study Grant (bursary) scheme.
