The Institution of Royal Engineers

The Institution of Royal Engineers (InstRE) is a registered charity incorporated by Royal Charter, established in 1887 to promote the art and science of military engineering, and the efficiency of the Corps of Royal Engineers. We provide a forum for debate through sponsorship of joint professional meetings; the publication of articles in a triannual journal; the maintenance of a museum and library for the Corps’ heritage and archive collection; and the administration of prizes and awards for military engineering excellence. We are proud to be a professional engineering institution and licensed member of the Engineering Council, allowing us to register our members as Engineering Technicians (EngTech), Incorporated Engineers (IEng) and Chartered Engineers (CEng).

The Royal Engineers Association

The Royal Engineers Association (REA) is the Regimental Association of the Royal Engineers. We promote the Corps among the Association by: Fostering espirit de corps, comradeship and service. Maintaining an awareness of Corps traditions.
